Jessie James Decker........................Born Jessica Rose James, Decker's somewhat exotic birthplace was a product of her being raised in a military family. Decker's military family lived in Louisiana at the age of nine years old. She took home a prize in the talent contest with a version of Patsy's I Want to Be a Cowboy's Sweetheart. Decker made the move to Georgia at the age of fifteen. She had started to write songs and was regularly making visits in Nashville and visiting record labels as well as music publishers to find deals. An agent from the independently-owned label Big Yellow Dog Records heard her at 17 and started selling her music to other labels. Decker was just 17 when she snagged the attention of an official from Big Yellow Dog Records, who began shopping her songs to labels and artists. Then, in August of 2009 Decker launched her self-titled debut album under the moniker Jessie James. Jessie James was reasonably successful and included Wanted the single which climbed across the Top 40 of the singles charts. Decker's album 2 was released under the names of Daughter of a Gypsy or Sweet American Dreams was shelved by Mercury and after three singles flopped in the charts of country music. Decker was dismissed from her contract.
