Her conception took place on March 29, 1985, in Roswell in New Mexico. Her given name is Gerina Mendoza. Gerina Stevenson is a native of Mexico in the family of Mexican parents Alan Stevenson and Rita Stevenson. She is American and has Mexican-American heritage. Her desire to play sports was born as a kid. Gerina started playing golf at the age of fifteen. Gerina finished her high school studies at Goddard High School. The school won the New Mexico State Golf Tournament during her time in high school. She also had her volleyball skills acknowledged at the national stage. She began attending the University of Texas. As a senior she took home the top prize in every competition that was entered. In the course of her undergraduate studies she won the titles of Conference USA Female Athlete and Conference USA Individual Player of the Year.
