Thompson, who graduated from high school in the year 2005 and spent five years travelling around the globe after graduating, made the move back to New York for a modeling career. She was also a guest in Civil Wars, a drama program that aired on ABC. She was a part of the sci-fi drama "Babylon 5" in the role of Talia Winters the following year. In 1987 the actress married David Guc who she divorced in the year 1990. Thompson was blessed with the son of her marriage, Alec, in 1992. He has not been identified as the father of his son. In 1995, she was married to actor Jerry Doyle. They have a son called Al. They split in 1997.
